Bryana Rivers, MS, CGC Genetic Counselor | JHU

Bryana Rivers, MS, CGC, is a licensed and board-certified genetic counselor in the Division of Cardiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She earned her Master’s degree in Medical Genetics from the University of Cincinnati and has clinical experience across multiple genetics specialties, including pediatrics, oncology, and cardiology. In her current role at Johns Hopkins, Bryana’s time is evenly divided between clinical care and research. She has played a key role in an NIH-funded randomized controlled trial focused on developing and implementing pre-test cardiovascular genetics education videos and post-test genetic counseling visits integrated into the outpatient clinical workflow of the Johns Hopkins Center for Inherited Heart Diseases. As a follow-up study, she also contributed to the adaptation and implementation of these genetics education videos for the inpatient setting. Bryana’s experience demonstrates her commitment to innovative and scalable models of genetic counseling service delivery and genetics education for individuals with diverse levels of formal training.
