Jeff Day, MD, MA is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Art as Applied to Medicine. Dr. Day completed medical school at Case Western Reserve University and has a master’s degree in medical and biological illustration from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Day is an award-winning medical artist with expertise in communicating scientific information in an accessible manner. He mentored a Master’s student through her thesis creating animations to explain Mendelian inheritance patterns and performing general population user testing. As a co-investigator on an R01 with Dr. Applegate and Ms. Rivers, he also recorded, edited, and animated four pre-test genetic counseling education videos and completed user testing of the videos in a diverse population.
